| With Google AdSense, you’re probably creating a set of subjects and topics that are exclusive to your Website. After your Website is dressed up with a series of Google AdSense categories, the next step might be to look into link units. Google has recently introduced link units to the AdSense program, allowing you to increase your click-through potential and add more advertisers to your current set. The format and layout are easy to implement, and all it takes is a few steps of setup from your AdSense account. Link units are a carefully designed set of links that vary in size. Each link unit can have 4 or 5 links, and the size ranges from 120 x 90 to 200 x 90 pixels. These are inserted easily onto your Website or blog, giving you a chance to increase your AdSense revenue easily and efficiently! There is only one “Ads by Google” colored bar sign placed on top of the link unit, so it won’t be an excessive distraction for your site’s visitors. Link units can prove to be a valuable secondary AdSense income stream. Although the clicks from each link on the link unit are logged, no payment is made until your visitor clicks on the linked page. Using a link unit opens up the doors to ads your visitors may not otherwise have found. Because each link unit is arranged by a specific, targeted, category, it’s a much more valuable resource for your site’s visitors. Each unit can be placed strategically on sidebar or at the bottom of your page; the units let you pull up a list of ads that are context-specific. Context-specific search and advertising are even more important today, since your site’s visitors are likely to browse and stay on your Website longer when they can easily find added information. Link units can enhance your AdSense-based Website by offering additional information with a high potential that leads to a click-through. To add link units to your Website, just log into your AdSense account and visit the AdSense Setup tab. The link unit radio button can be found on the drop-down list, and you can choose the link unit format of 4 or 5 links. Then, simply copy and past the code into your AdSense Code box. The links will show up on the site immediately! There is a limit of only one link unit per page, but Google still lets you add 3 regular ad units per content page. |
