The Theory
What would happen if the only link to
your Adsense site were from a PR9 site?
How quickly would you get indexed... and
what would happen if that link were taken
away?
The Test
We wanted to test this with a PR10 link
(the highest page rank possible) but had
to settle with a PR9. Still pretty
impressive...
The link pointed to a brand new Adsense
site we created (using Traffic Equalizer).
The site is made up of over 15,000 pages.
The link will point to the site for 30
days and then will be removed.
We will not promote the site in any
other way except for this single link.
The Results
Within 24 hours Google fully indexed
the site (all 15,000+ pages). Yahoo took a
week to index the site
which we
found strange.
After the 30 days, the link was removed
from the PR9 site. Google de-indexed the
entire site almost immediately. The site
lasted a month in Yahoo before it was
de-indexed from there too.
The Lesson
A link is probably only useful as long
as it remains pointing to your web site.
As soon as the link is taken away, it is
no longer effective.
Also, Google relies more on link
popularity than Yahoo does.
